Recently my entourage and I went to the Irvine Park Railroad for their 10th annual Pumpkin Patch. When going to the Irvine Railroad I would highly suggest that you make a day of it. I would plan a picnic, bring a blanket to sit on and dress accordingly for the weather. When you enter the park you will need to pay an entrance fee. I believe I had to pay $5 to enter, it’s per vehicle.
After we arrived my boys were so excited. We took a walk around the park, my boys had a great time skipping rocks as we walked along the water.
We took a bike tour for an hour on their Double Surrey, talk about a workout. Quads of steel! LOL My kids voted me off the bike. Once allowed back on we had a blast going on an adventure around Irvine Park.
After that my boys did the paddle boats, my legs were too wobbly to even attempt so I sat from afar and relaxed as they peddled their hearts out.
Lots of activities sure build up a ravenous appetite. Remember when I said you should pack a picnic well I forgot to do this. Which wasn’t a problem since there is a snack bar that serves up some mean burgers and fries.
After we indulged in an array pleasing kid friendly foods we went to the pumpkin patch.
There is a haunted house which my 5yo and I opted to wait for the older two to venter on through.
They got to pan for gold,
faces painted, we rode the train, bounced in the bounce house, went through the maze,
decorated cookies,
and we also went on the tracker ride.
With some yummy snacks along the way.
On the way out we took a pumpkin home.
Overall it was the best day ever!! 6 hours of pure fun and vitamin D. I am still reminiscing on that great day, with lots of laughs, exercise and family bonding.
