Granny at the reggae rock concert?
Well, yes this granny made it down to Long Beach, her old stomping grounds for the Shoreline Jam at The Queen Mary. What a beautiful Southern California day. The ocean was blue the sky was also a beautiful blue and the ocean breeze blew gently inland. The sun was out and it was a very warm day so this breeze was welcomed! I could not help but smile as my eyes took in all the views as I approached the entrance. You know I spent my first night married on The Queen Mary, with my new husband of course!
I walked by the Queen Mary, the submarine just outside and the quintet hut gift shop. I was greeted with smiles and welcoming and as they searched my bag the gal that was going to pat me down asked that I turn around. I said I would only if I got a neck massage too. You know that doesn’t work with the TSA but guess what, she did! I had such a stiff neck and there was no one behind me, I was in love! I gave her a big hug and entered the grounds. Music was playing and there were vendors all around the parameter. Oh such cute sandals, shop or head to the stage, such a dilemma!
Tribal Theroy was up, a band all the way from the island of San Diego! Hey I’m liking this reggae stuff! People are walking but they just can’t help themselves and they move with the music. I caught myself doing it too. My experience with reggae rock is Bob Marley, that is about it and these guys are good, really good. I got close and ended up talking to those around me dressed in rasta colors. What a great group at the jam! Another favorite of mine was Kimie Miner. So cute, great voice, great show. Lots of different smells, lots of great music and lots of great people hanging out at the Shoreline Jam 2015 went to see the sights after the show…Ate at Steamers on 3rd, great Vegan place.
I will be back next year! What a great venue.
