Recently my Boyznberries and I had the opportunity to try Ruby’s Pumpkin menu.
From Pumpkin pancakes, to Pumpkin Shakes to a Pumpkin Spice Coffee Roaster. If you’re tempted by any of this, keep in mind that you’ll need to hurry if you want to “Fall” in love as these items are only available for a limited time.
My oldest had the Pumpkin Pancakes. I won’t lie, I was a skeptic. For some reason, I thought it might be soggy and lumpy with an overwhelming taste of pumpkin. So I did what any responsible parent does, I had my son order it and I then tried some of his. I was shocked when I tried it – and frankly I was pretty disappointed…in myself! They were so delicious and so perfect, packed with pumpkin and spice and everything nice. It wasn’t overwhelming at all nor did it leave an aftertaste of “blah” on my tongue. I scarfed down bite after bite as my annoyed son said, “Mom, why didn’t you order your own?” I really wish I had. Next time I will be sure to order my own as they were that good. What I had was equally great but now all I have on my mind is pancakes.
The Pumpkin spice coffee roaster is another winner, tasty coffee topped off with whipped cream and cinnamon. My favorite thing about fall is having pumpkin coffee and when I do, the places I go usually fail to meet my taste bud’s expectations. From the first sip I was hooked, and I was definitely falling in love. Everything from the aroma, the taste and the creamy texture as I took sip after sip told me that this was a win. I wish Ruby’s had a drive thru coffee window. If they did, this would be my drink of choice. I might end up just walking in to get a to go cup if I couldn’t stay for their pumpkin pancakes that is.
After our meal we all had shakes and I went with (surprise!) the Pumpkin Shake. Blended with pumpkin, spice and topped with whipped cream and a candy corn how does one go wrong? I devoured that shake and I have no shame in saying so. It was like I was slurping a pumpkin pie.
One thing that I liked about these three menu items, was that you could order all of them during the same meal and they each compliment each other. The pancakes with the coffee would be a great combo as they would surprisingly complement each other in a great way. The coffee was sweet and delicious you didn’t need to add milk or sugar it already had syrup and the whipped cream swirled together was wonderful. Now we always save room for dessert in our family. So even though it was only 10:00 a.m. I refuse to feel mom shamed about getting shakes. They were delicious and trust me when I say you could order the pumpkin pancakes, the pumpkin coffee, and the pumpkin shake and not be sick of pumpkin. Or feel like there is an overload of it, each and everyone complimented each dish and it was “delish” .
I am not sure what the Chef’s did at Ruby’s but they’ve mastered pumpkin recipes. Whether you order one or you order three I promise you the pumpkin items on the menu won’t disappoint – packed with pumpkin flavor, perfectly balanced and fulfilling in every way.
