My boys and I were invited to a noodle making party at Twenty Eight Restaurant in Irvine. Shirley Chung from Bravo Networks, Top Chef would be leading the event.
Her sous chef would be none other than PO, from DreamWorks animation Kung Fu Panda.
Shirley, noodles and PO what could be a better? We had no idea what to expect when we showed up. It wasn’t what I expected then again I didn’t have any expectations, well I did have expectations to eat some noodles.
When I arrived I was in awe how Shirley was so personable and showing the kids how to make her famous noodles. When it was time to try them they were out of this world. The best noodles I have ever had. In fact so good that I was able to take a box home. My older rotten child devoured the box while I was getting my 4 year old into his carseat. I knew it would be bad to start crying over noodles but they were that great. The way the garlic bounced off your tongue or how the noodles didn’t leave a heavy residue on your tongue. It was smooth, robust and pleasing to the pallet. The aroma and the flavor took your senses to a new level. I am not going to lie I had three servings of noodles and I would have had more if not for those kids of mine!
We had a great time meeting Shirley, making new friends and who could forget PO!!! It was an event to remember and not just because of the noodles either….erm, did I mention they were the best noodles I have EVER had. I will be back to visit you Shirley with my entourage at Twenty Eight restaurant, please make sure you have copious amounts of those noodles ready for me! Seriously after the event all I had on my brain were those noodles and the way they tasted.
How much fun is that! Great movie tie-in, and the pictures are great!

What a fun things to be able to participate in! My Grandma made amazing homemade noodles but I am still not quite confident enough to attempt it. I think I would much rather go out and have someone else make them for me:)
