The last thing I want to worry about is what I am going to cook for dinner, when I already have a full schedule ahead. Having “selective” picky eaters makes it difficult with some dinner options. It’s already a juggling act, with carpools, sports, PTA meetings, etc etc etc….I just want something simple, tasty and healthy to serve my kids. Even the pickiest ones.
I am so excited to share that Jennie-O has developed a handy online resource for parents; filled with “How To”s and easy-to-make recipes that will be sure to leave even the pickiest eaters satisfied. From turkey tacos to-go to easy strawberry turkey bacon salad, the site features wholesome recipes that will make students of all ages happy. Turkey is a leaner and more healthful choice than other meat options, with a high amount of protein to help children stay full for a longer period of time.
Ok did you read that last line? “Turkey is a leaner and more healthful choice than other meat options, with a hight amount of protein to help children stay full for a longer period of time.” That statement made me want to do backflips. My six-year-old is ALWAYS hungry or at least it seems. So I had to try this out and I was happy with the results. My boys have ravenous appetites. They came to the table, they ate and left satisfied!
I love Jennie-O turkey. I love all the things you can use as a healthier option. I made tacos and it was so nice already having the taco seasoned ground turkey ready to go. It was easier buying the taco fixings pack at my local store.
I am a low carber so I opted to use butter lettuce vs a taco shell for tacos. Both were equally delicious. My boys didn’t even know the difference with the meat.
My friend made turkey chili in the crockpot. She said it was so simple and easy. The family gave it two thumbs up.
1 1/2 pounds turkey
1 can red kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can white beans
2 cups salsa
1 can no salt added tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 onion chopped
Drain beans and put all of the ingredients into a crockpot. Cook on high for 5 hours.
Delicious for a fall dinner. I know your family will “FALL” in love with it.
