My toddler like most loves to pretend, when in the bathtub he is the pirate and the bubbles are his magic power that takes the loot from the other pirate ships. He also enjoys using the left over halloween costumes from the years and plays dress up, from superman, power rangers to a zombie. His imagination is endless. So we found it fitting to have his third birthday at pretend city. It was the best party by far. Like always this mommy is always running late. When I arrived I was frazzled, I didn’t have to say a word the party planners had a cart waiting for me. One planner went to the car to help unload the stuff, the other helped me set up the room.
I couldn’t believe how adorable the room set up was. There was a whiteboard that said, Happy Birthday with my toddlers name. This was also so the kids could use the dry-erase markers and stay busy and entertained.
My son’s theme was Elmo. I was surprised when I heard Elmo over the loud speakers in the room. One of the party attendants used her phone to turn on Pandora radio and had Sesame street / Elmo music playing. This was the first time I could actually enjoy my children’s party and see how the guest were doing while knowing everything else was being taken care of with a smile. The party attendants were amazing, I wish they could have come home with me as well!
When you book a party you have an hour in the party room and after that you can stay until Pretend City closes. I didn’t think I would be staying that long, I was wrong. All three of my boys didn’t want to leave they had a blast so did the parents.
They say a picture is worth a thoursand words, so lets begin our journey;
One of the many things that sold me on Pretend City was being able to bring in our own food. So I brought in my toddlers favorite finger foods! |
I made sandwiches with that were circle and star cutouts. Some were ham & cheese, turkey & cheese and cucumber sandwiches |
I made a cheese and olive tray |
Veggie tray customized with my toddlers favorite, pickles and cucumbers |
You can’t have Elmo without his beloved Dorothy so we had goldfish crackers in a mock goldfish bowl. |
These are orange slices with jello – they were the biggest hit in the party room! |
Whole wheat pasta salad, basically whatever I had to make a pasta salad and I added some salami |
I was so pleased with how these Elmo cupcakes turned out. With a near nervous breakdown at the end, overall it turned out well. |
He turned three years old, YIPPEE! |
Having a blast writing on the whiteboard! Kept them very entertained until they were ready to play! |
The first thing my toddler wanted to go was go to the art studio. Picasso look out! |
My middle son the police chief, and his friend the fire warden getting ready to dispatch a call |
The weight lifting bench was a huge hit for every age! |
Next my toddler and some of his entourage went to the marina. Equipped with raincoats and rain boots.
Hello there, Its off to the Farm!
Finished picking apples showing mommy his basket |
My toddler was so happy to write about his day |
His words were heart felt |
Sent off with a kiss! |
My baby boy got hungry again so he had to make a stop at the ATM before he went to the grocery store |
After the grocery store we had to head home and put the food away and take a bath.
We had to do our chores before we ventured out again |
With all that cleaning he had a burst of energy so we headed to the Amphitheater so he could party like the rock star he is |
All that singing and dancing made us hungry so we headed over to Wahoo’s |
Its always important to brush after meals, more importantly to see a Dentist for regular checkups.
Its fun to play Dentist at Pretend City |
Brush those teeth! |
Ok this goes above and beyond. To keep the older kids entrained (not just my kids but all the kids at pretend city) the staff creates a scavenger hunt for the kids to play. Everyone who works at Pretend city really enjoys their job and helps the child unleash their creativity.
We will be back again and again, and I am not just pretending!
