As if Pretend City wasn’t SUPER enough! This new exhibit, created by Omaha Children’s Museum, will have you soaring to new heights with excitement! Throughout pretend city you see your classic ‘POW’ ’BAM’ ‘BOOM’ bubbles to get you excited for some action. They have a dress up area before you walk in to be sure your Superhero attire is just right before getting to experience the exhibit.
Inside the exhibit you will find the Sky Slider. This is t0 test your valor and fearlessness as a superhero. Fully equipped with helmets because, of course even with super powers, SAFETY FIRST! They have 2 different zip lines so if your little one doesn’t have the grip strength for the longer one try out the shorter one first. I personally felt like the longer one was a little slower in speed than the shorter distance one.
The wind tunnel will help you take flight and let you soar through the clouds! you can watch yourself on the screen or as a parent you can stand behind the wind tunnels and watch or record your super hero on the big screen!
They have a rope maze, comic creation station, storm shooter and a Super Cycle area. Put your strength to the test as you pedal as fast at you can and watch the lights light up with the power you are creating!
This new exhibit will get your little ones feeling SUPER. Every week this summer Pretend City will be celebrating superheroes of all kinds with some special appearances by superheroes themselves! For certain weeks (listed below) flying into Pretend City dressed like a specific superhero you will get a discount on their admission. Pretend City will also be highlighting real-live superheroes that keep us safe on a daily basis.
Here are the upcoming Superhero Summer weeks:
– July 3-July 9 Military Heroes
*$2 off admission for those who come dressed as Military Heroes
-July 8 Water Heroes– Come learn more about our water heroes!
-August 7- August 20 Olympic Heroes
This is so exciting to get to celebrate the superhero in all of us. Everyone has a super power, what’s yours????
“The exhibit has been created around the idea that every child is a superhero. We want children to believe in themselves. This exhibit will help empower children so that they believe their own abilities to make a difference in the world,” says museum executive director Sandra Bolton.
Go! Show them your super power!
