My Boyznberries celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. My boys get practical gifts for this reason, things I would be buying for them anyway. Small token gifts, its not about the gifts and what they can get its the meaning behind why we light the candles which is the focus. Christmas is the same, its not about how many presents are under the tree. Its why we are thankful and what the day really represents.
My practical gifts; my oldest he likes a certain hair gel, socks, candy, iTunes cards, etc. My middle son likes house slippers so each year he gets a new pair, a bathrobe, socks, candy and a special toothbrush. The toddler gets new bath toys, bandaids (if you have a toddler you understand the phenomenon with this), candy, bubble bath and socks.
Everyone gets new socks with the brand that they like, whoever said boys are easy lied. They are just as brand loyal and pretentious as girls. What a travesty if they get generic white or black socks.
Below are the gifts they got for the second night;
No generic black or white socks here. If you ask me I think they are kind of SUPER! HA this really cracks me up.
This earned me some peace and quiet time!
This did not!
What a toddler on a sugar high looks like ( someone bought him a king sized candy bar)
